Field Service Technician

Position Summary The Field Service Technician is responsible for working independently to maintain retail store technologies and computer systems across retail store and commercial business environments. They install, support, and repair Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions and non‑TOSHIBA retail products in stores such as apparel, supermarkets, mass merchandising, specialty shops, banks, insurance agents, CPAs, and law firms. The Technician ensures customer satisfaction, meets metrics, and performs full product and component exchanges, on‑premises diagnostics, repairs, refurbishments, relocations, upgrades, and configuration changes using established documentation and procedures. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship. Pay Details Non‑exempt, hourly role with a starting pay rate of $28.37/hr. Benefits are available on day one of employment. Schedule Requirements Work hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Friday through Tuesday (off Wednesday/Thursday). The role requires on‑call coverage for evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis at least once a month. Responsibilities Operate within assigned territory and perform repairs and services on products independently; install all equipment in new or remodeled sites. Travel within assigned territory or nationally to customer locations for installations, relocations, discontinuances, and configuration changes. Communicate effectively with customers, management, peers, and team members regarding status, problems, and satisfaction; build positive customer relationships. Plan, prioritize, and schedule work to meet or exceed customer satisfaction objectives; arrange travel and respond to schedule changes with minimal notice. Document installation activities accurately using TOSHIBA standards and automated systems. Maintain and manage trunk stock to support all customers. Perform other related duties as assigned. Environmental Conditions Driving to multiple customer locations throughout the day. Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Standing and walking for 75% of the normal workday. Performing frequent stooping, bending, and squatting. Using regular hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, etc.). Regular air travel may be required. Using ladders or lifts to access roof or interior devices. Areas of Expertise & Special Skills High School Diploma with 4+ years of related experience; IT/Technical degree or certificate preferred. Must travel 100% of the time, including domestic and/or air travel. Operational knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat panel TVs, cash registers, and retail devices. Experience in wall‑to‑wall IT service and support. Mechanical aptitude with competency in electricity and electronics; ability to use test equipment and electronic testers. Ability to follow written or spoken directions and communicate clearly. Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently. Good written and oral communication skills, including tact and diplomacy. Knowledge of IT signal and power cables and low‑voltage wiring systems for diagnosis and repair. Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic. Professional demeanor, dress, and behavior. Problem‑solving and organizational skills. Ability to work long hours and varying shifts, including overtime and weekends.
