Position Summary

The Lead Older Toddler Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and engaging classroom environment, and supporting children as they develop independence, communication skills, and social-emotional growth.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, patient, flexible, and able to lead a classroom while building strong relationships with children, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment. 
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and learning activities aligned with developmental milestones. 
• Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. 
• Maintain daily classroom schedules and routines. 
• Conduct circle time, small group activities, sensory experiences, and learning centers. 
• Complete daily observations, assessments, and classroom documentation. 
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's progress and daily experiences. 
• Ensure children are supervised at all times and maintain proper classroom ratios. 
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and sanitized according to licensing requirements. 
• Work collaboratively with administration and fellow teachers. 
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. 
• Be flexible and willing to assist in other classrooms when needed to support center operations. 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. 
• CDA, TCC, or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. 
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a licensed childcare center preferred. 
• Strong understanding of toddler development and positive classroom management techniques. 
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain. 
• Must pass all required background checks. 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
• Reliable, punctual, professional, and flexible.
