Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00/hour (Depending on Experience)

PrideStaff has been exclusively retained to recruit an Accounts Payable / Office Specialist for an established industry leader in the specialized commercial and residential construction and contracting space based in Lake Park, FL.

This isn't a run-of-the-mill, head-down data entry role. You will work side-by-side with senior leadership, playing a critical part in day-to-day financial workflows, vendor relations, and operational coordination. Best of all: this role is designed with a clear long-term succession path. As key management plans for eventual retirement, the right person will have the runway, hands-on mentorship, and opportunity to grow into comprehensive office and business leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage full-cycle vendor and subcontractor invoicing, verify purchase orders/packing slips, and prepare check runs.
• Coordinate Notices to Owner (NTOs), lien releases, change orders, and job-cost documentation.
• Track and verify subcontractor certificates of insurance (COIs) and licensing.
• Assist with billing workflows with planned cross-training into Accounts Receivable and basic collection tracking.
• Maintain accurate Excel logs and utilize industry-specific portal systems (full training provided—no prior roofing/specialty software experience needed).
• Partner with ownership and department heads to solve problems on the fly. (Note: This position carries zero routine receptionist or front-desk phone responsibilities.)

Who Excels in This Environment?

• Proven experience in Accounts Payable, billing, or general office accounting. Prior construction or subcontracting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Proficient with cell formatting, formulas, and general data management (no pivot tables required).
• This is an active, candid, fast-moving construction office—not a corporate, PC bubble. A thick skin, a great sense of humor, and practical problem-solving go a long way here.
• You thrive in an environment where priorities can shift quickly and you can pivot without losing your cool.
• Candidates residing within a convenient commuting distance to the Lake Park area are strongly preferred.
