Senior AV Design Engineer

Job Description

Senior AV Design Engineer | Westchester County, NY

Location: Elmsford / Westchester County, NY

Working Arrangement: On-site

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

I'm working with an established, growing AV integration business in Westchester County that is looking to bring in an experienced Senior AV Design Engineer.

The company delivers complex, multimillion-dollar commercial AV projects and is looking for someone who can take ownership of the technical design process, working closely with project management, engineering and installation teams.

This is an opportunity to join a smaller, ambitious business where you'll have a genuine influence on engineering standards, project delivery and the continued growth of the team.

Responsibilities

\n
• Lead the technical design of commercial audiovisual systems from concept through to installation.
\n
• Develop system architecture, equipment specifications, signal flow diagrams and design documentation.
\n
• Design integrated AV solutions covering conferencing, presentation, audio, video and control systems.
\n
• Work closely with project managers, technicians and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
\n
• Review designs for technical accuracy, functionality and installation requirements.
\n
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineering team members.
\n
• Liaise with manufacturers and vendors to identify appropriate technical solutions.
\n
• Contribute to the development of engineering processes and design standards.
\n

Requirements

\n
• Strong commercial AV systems design experience within an integration environment.
\n
• Proven ability to lead the design of complex AV systems.
\n
• Knowledge of AV-over-IP, DSP, control systems, conferencing and networked AV technologies.
\n
• Experience producing and reviewing technical design documentation.
\n
• Strong understanding of the installation and commissioning process.
\n
• CTS-D certification advantageous but not essential.
\n
• Comfortable working on-site in Westchester County.
\n

Please note: This is a design leadership position, not a CAD production role. Advanced CAD drafting experience is not required.

Why Consider It?

\n
• Opportunity to take ownership of AV engineering design.
\n
• Exposure to significant, multimillion-dollar projects.
\n
• Direct access to company leadership and decision-makers.
\n
• Opportunity to help shape the growth of an expanding engineering function.
\n
• A hands-on environment where your technical input has a visible impact.
\n
