Posting Information Posting Number: 2026542 Functional Title: Research Analyst – Program Evaluation University Pay Plan Title: Research Analyst Location: San Marcos, TX University Pay Plan: Full-Time, Exempt Salary: $4,894.00 - $6,117.00 per month Job Description The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level research center at Texas State University dedicated to school safety initiatives under the Texas Education Code and the Governor’s Homeland Security Strategic Plan. TxSSC serves as the clearinghouse for safety and security information through research, training, and technical assistance for K‑12 schools and junior colleges statewide. This role supports the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation in managing data, conducting analysis, and developing internal and external templates and reports related to the evaluation of internal training program deliverables and outcomes. The position provides an opportunity to contribute to data collection, analysis, and dissemination of research to stakeholders. Job Duties Assist in expanding and improving program evaluation of state‑wide training and events Design appropriate methodologies for school safety, security, and health topics Design and administer data collection procedures including surveys, focus groups, and interview protocols Manage data collected from statewide surveys and TxSSC training events Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data Conduct assessments of programs and activities Develop reports, scholarly articles, and other research publications Disseminate information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form Present ideas to individuals or groups to ensure understanding Develop templates, guides, and toolkits to support Texas school districts Conduct systematic literature reviews on school safety, security, and health topics Ensure high attention to detail and organization with projects Provide technical support to school stakeholders and internal staff professionally Proactively solve problems while demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Experience with research or program evaluation related work Knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques, including Microsoft Excel and Qualtrics Experience developing reports from data sets Writing skills in technical, academic, public policy, or grant and legislative reporting Experience managing multiple project timelines Attention to detail and strong organization skills Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. Experience designing and programming assessments and evaluations in Qualtrics Experience with advanced data analysis tools (SAS, SQL, Excel Power Query, Pivot Tables) Experience with advanced data analysis software (R, SPSS) Experience with ArcGIS software Experience conducting social science research with populations in educational environments Knowledge of the Texas Education Code Experience with client relationship management Additional Information Occasional travel for data collection, conferences and/or meetings required The position is based in San Marcos, TX and interviews will be conducted in person Legal and Required Notices Texas State University is committed to a policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all persons regardless of race, sex, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by federal or state law in employment, educational programs, and activities and admissions.
