Private Credit Associate, Direct Lending

A leading alternative investment firm is looking to add an Associate to its Private Credit team in Chicago. The team focuses on direct lending and opportunistic credit investments across lower middle market and middle market companies in a variety of sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior investment professionals across the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting, execution, portfolio management, and monitoring. The team is specifically seeking candidates coming from the buyside with prior direct lending experience. Responsibilities: Evaluate and execute direct lending and structured credit investment opportunities Perform detailed financial analysis, underwriting, and credit modeling Conduct due diligence and assess company performance, industry dynamics, and downside protection Assist in structuring debt investments and negotiating transaction terms Monitor existing portfolio investments and prepare investment committee materials Work closely with management teams, sponsors, and external advisors throughout the deal process Qualifications: 1–4 years of relevant experience within private credit, direct lending, private debt, or leveraged finance Prior buyside experience required Strong understanding of credit underwriting and capital structures Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment Strong communication and presentation skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Alexander Chapman
