The Occupational Therapy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Occupational Therapist by engaging in client-related tasks and executing assigned procedures that align with their training and education. All services are delivered under the guidance of a treatment plan established by a physician, with evaluations conducted by colleagues.

• Collaborate as a team member to enhance overall client care under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Implement treatment programs according to the established Plan of Care.
• Instruct clients in activities of daily living.
• Provide training on the proper use of prosthetic devices and adaptive equipment.
• Monitor, document, and report to the supervisor on client conditions, reactions, and responses related to assigned tasks.
• Communicate any changes in the client’s condition and functional level to the Licensed Occupational Therapist, including test results and responses to therapy.
• Ensure accurate documentation of services in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Honor patients’ rights and cultural beliefs while maintaining strict confidentiality of all patient and organizational information.
• Adhere to all organizational policies, including HIPAA regulations.
• Accept only those assignments for which you are qualified.

• Active license in the State of Florida.
• Current CPR certification.
• OSHA certification.
• HIV/AIDS certification.
• HIPAA certification.
• Alzheimer’s certification.
• Medical Errors certification.
• Domestic Violence certification.
• Human Trafficking certification.
• At least 1 year of professional or personal experience assisting individuals with disabilities, mental health issues, or challenging behaviors.
• This position involves direct patient interaction and is part of the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; selected candidates will need to undergo TB screening.
• A valid in-state driver’s license is required, along with current vehicle registration and insurance, and a driving record with no more than 2 points in the last 3 years.
• This role is part of the Driver Safety program, necessitating a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with minimum coverage limits of 100,000/300,000/100,000.

The salary range provided below represents a good faith estimate of the starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications, including skills, experience, education, and certifications.

$64,000 - $87,500 annually
