Haul Truck Driver (Underground Miner)

The Haul Truck Driver (Underground Miner) will report to the Mine Supervisor and is responsible for safe and efficient operation of 20-ton, 30-ton, and 40-ton haul trucks from underground to the surface. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate 20-ton and larger mine haul truck from underground to surface.
• Perform a thorough walk-around inspection at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Safely and effectively haul and dump material in designated areas.
• Remove garbage and keep the cab of the trucks clean.
• Ensure the truck receives fuel as required and at the end of each shift.
• Follow all safety, environmental, company, and state/federal requirements.
• Willing to stop work for safety concerns, and abide by safety best practices, policies and procedures.
• Assist in general mine labor as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset being respectful, reliable, and easy to work with is just as important as technical skills.
• Willingness to assist others, adapt to changing conditions, and proactively solve problems in a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
• Excellent safety, attendance, and work records.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with all mine site personnel.
• Demonstrate initiative as a team member in a growing, fast-paced environment.
• Sets high standards for self and others, builds trust and takes accountability.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior experience working underground operating haul trucks or similar equipment.
• Preference given to Southeast Alaska residents.
