HVAC Technician (1st Shift)

We provide high-pressure processing (HPP), value-added services and cold storage for our partners in the food industry. We are focused on safety and driven by service. We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC technician to maintain and repair HVAC systems. The HVAC technician will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems. Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities Maintaining and repairing Freon, Glycolchillers, evaporator, split systems, and condensers. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems. Performing emergency repairs promptly, efficiently, and costly. Providing technical direction and on-the-job training to junior technicians Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and w/ Occupational Health and Safety Act. Complying with service standards and work instructions. Occasionally Facilities Maintenance. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalence. 3+ years’ experience as an HVAC technician and willingness to continue education in HVAC field. Understanding of advanced principles of refrigeration Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in reading, schematics, and work plans. Ability to work after hours, over weekends with short to NO NOTICE (If needed). Must have an EPA certification. Working Conditions Within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures. Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of a job. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Work may involve potential exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Universal Pure facilities may process, pack, and store products containing allergenic food ingredients as referenced by FDA, team members who may come in direct contact, must be able to work with these ingredients.
