Location: Avera McKennan Hospital Worker Type: Regular Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range: $32.50 – $48.50 per hour, actual pay dependent on experience. Position Highlights Experienced RN eligible to apply. Postpartum/GYN – 72 hours/2 weeks – 12‑hour rotating day/night shift including every 3rd weekend/holiday, occasional call. This position may be eligible for a $6,000 or $15,000 sign‑on bonus. Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. What you will do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team, and coordinating with other healthcare providers. Offer physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; confirm care plans and maintain open communication with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting patient physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; consult with family and friends; establish nursing diagnosis, care objectives, and intervention schedules. Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions and provide resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care standards, reviewing patient records, noting changing conditions and needs, and re‑evaluating care objectives; modify nursing plans as necessary. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal regulations; alert others to potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership using continuing education and training. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing license in the state of practice, active upon hire. Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
