About the Role Associate: Operations & Manufacturing (Open to all U.S. locations) The Team A&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice serves middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms, helping portfolio companies improve operating performance. The Operations group specializes in manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, SG&A, and sales force effectiveness. How You Will Contribute Develop a comprehensive understanding of a target’s manufacturing and distribution operations, including organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability. Assess the maintainability and operability of production facilities. Review historical and current data to gauge efficiency and capacity, covering equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts, and detailed production numbers. Engage with employees and external stakeholders to gain shop floor insights and validate findings. Identify cost‑improvement opportunities through lean practices, outsourcing, or facility consolidation. Develop transformation plans, including risk identification and mitigation strategies. Oversee deliverable quality and manage day‑to‑day team relationships to ensure exceptional performance. Qualifications 2‑5 plus years of professional experience, with at least 3 years focused on manufacturing and/or distribution functions. Deep functional expertise in at least one of the following areas: Supply Chain Operations Manufacturing Operations, SI&O Footprint optimization, plant consolidation, and product line transfer Manufacturing strategy, CapEx planning, and Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, and Value Engineering Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis. Experience designing and leading internal or external change and communication strategies. Prior strategy and change‑management experience. Bachelor’s degree required. Benefits The salary range is $90,000–$130,000 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
