Field Service Technician - Ohio

About the Role The Field Service Technician will deliver efficient and cost‑effective service to customers in the New Albany, Ohio project site. The role supports a major construction project and involves travel for training. Technicians are based near Columbus, OH and will work primarily onsite. Responsibilities Maintain OEM certification status through continuous training and knowledge updates. Maximize availability of INNIO gas engines and plant through rapid troubleshooting, fault rectification, and scheduled maintenance. Respond to after‑hours callouts in a timely manner. Collect, label, and dispatch oil samples to the laboratory following agreed procedures. Select, order, and use correct parts; return unnecessary parts to maintain waste efficiency. Maintain van stock in good condition, accurately inventory it, and notify Parts Department upon usage. Ensure liaison and communication with the Service Manager, customers, and subcontractors on site at all times. Provide service reports and recommendations professionally and promptly. Build and maintain positive customer relationships, representing Clarke Energy’s industry standing. Maintain high site housekeeping, presentation, and equipment cleanliness. Keep tools safe, in working order, and calibrated as required. Supervise and train apprentices and new employees as directed by the Service Manager. Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of field service experience. Strong knowledge of large gas engines, reciprocating gas engines, and engine overhauls. Electrical and/or mechanical knowledge related to gas engines. Willingness to travel extensively (up to 80% of the year) and work alone. Availability to work overtime and weekends when required. Reasonable IT skills. Power generation knowledge and experience is desirable. Demonstrated reliability, dependability, professionalism, and trustworthiness. Strong communication and customer relationship building skills. Ability to supervise and motivate others. Commercial awareness and effective under pressure. Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
