Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support a fast-paced manufacturing facility. In this role, you perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and execute repairs to keep production equipment running reliably and to minimize downtime. You focus heavily on diagnosing and resolving problems with motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and select automated equipment such as PLCs and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Identify and resolve faults in automated equipment, including PLCs and VFDs, to reduce production interruptions.
• Execute mechanical repairs and component replacements in a timely and accurate manner to minimize equipment downtime.
• Inspect equipment regularly to detect wear, damage, or potential failures and take corrective action.
• Document maintenance activities and repair work to support equipment history and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and support operational goals.
• Work safely at all times, following facility procedures and best practices for working with mechanical and automated equipment.
• Support weekend production needs and extended hours as required to maintain equipment availability.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with changing priorities.
• Basic familiarity with automated equipment, including PLCs and VFDs, and the ability to assist in troubleshooting these systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when identifying and correcting mechanical issues.
• Dependable work ethic and ability to work required overtime and weekend shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA. The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
