Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support a student’s learning journey this summer as a dedicated paraprofessional working 1:1 with an elementary student who uses American Sign Language. This contract opportunity is based near Forest Lake, MN, with a schedule designed to fit within your summer plans. The assignment covers Extended School Year (ESY) dates, running from June 15 to July 24, 2026 (with no sessions on June 19 or June 29–July 3). Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:45 am–11:45 am.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide individualized assistance to a kindergarten graduate, supporting academic and social development using ASL.
• Adapt communication and learning strategies according to the student’s needs, following IEP guidelines.
• Collaborate with the IEP team and other school staff to enhance the student experience.
• Foster an encouraging, inclusive environment focused on student growth.

Qualifications:

• ASL proficiency required; candidates with basic signing skills must be eager and willing to further their ASL knowledge.
• Experience working as a paraprofessional—especially in school settings or with elementary-aged children—is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
• Willingness and ability to reliably commute to the school site.
