About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 15 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Proficiency with EPIC required IV start experience required Telemetry experience required Ventilator management experience required Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred Description: Join our critical care float pool for night shifts with flexibility to meet unit needs. Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity. Units may include neuro ICU, surgical ICUs, medical ICUs, and cardiology. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Candidates must have strong skills in accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, and chest tube insertion. Experience with blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and central line management is essential. Ability to manage chronic and acute renal failure, as well as use emergency medications, is required. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction is necessary. Must be able to obtain 12 lead EKGs and perform phlebotomy. Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is preferred. Candidates should be familiar with titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. Flexibility in scheduling is required as weekend coverage is expected. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Experience floating within various ICU units is highly valued. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role.
