HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced HVAC / Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, client relationships, and field operations while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with exceptional communication skills, financial acumen, and experience managing complex commercial mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects from award through project completion.
• Oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
• Partner with Superintendents and field leadership to coordinate manpower, equipment, and project activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project schedules while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Manage project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, job costing, billing, and profitability.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure scope compliance.
• Prepare, negotiate, and manage change orders and contract modifications.
• Coordinate procurement of major equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Lead project meetings and maintain consistent communication with clients and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and quality expectations.
• Resolve project challenges through proactive problem-solving and collaboration.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Mentor Project Engineers and support the development of junior team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial HVAC or mechanical construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Experience managing commercial, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, or data center projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping systems, plumbing systems, and mechanical construction practices.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and financial performance.
• Knowledge of contract administration, subcontract management, and change order negotiations.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and mechanical plans.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Experience with project management software such as Procore, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms preferred.
