Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Construction

Our client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager who is eager to build a long-term career in mechanical construction. This role works alongside experienced project leaders to help deliver commercial and multi-family construction projects from kickoff through closeout. You'll gain exposure to project management, estimating, field operations, procurement, scheduling, and client communication while developing the skills needed to manage projects independently. What You’ll Do Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of active construction projects. Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation. Assist with scheduling activities and help keep project milestones on track. Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution. Spend time on project sites learning mechanical construction methods, installation practices, and jobsite operations. Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders. Help prepare project closeout packages and maintain accurate project records. Learn estimating fundamentals, quantity takeoffs, pricing, and change management. Review project costs, monitor budgets, and assist with forecasting. Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and project partners. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field. 1 to 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, internships, or project coordination. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Comfortable working in both office and field environments. Motivated to learn and develop within commercial mechanical construction. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
