Litigation Paralegal

Fairfield and Woods, P.C. is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as case manager for assigned matters, proactively anticipating and addressing case needs.
• Accurately docket and manage case deadlines utilizing docketing systems such as LawToolBox.
• Assist legal teams with all phases of litigation matters from pre-litigation through resolution, trial, appeal, and post-trial matters.
• Assist with discovery and e-discovery document collection, production and management, privilege review, and privilege logs, using platforms such as Relativity, Eclipse, or similar tools.
• Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery documents, and other litigation materials for attorney review.
• Prepare exhibits, witness and exhibit lists, trial subpoenas, and other trial materials.
• Attend and provide in-person support for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials, including management of exhibits, witness scheduling, vendor coordination, and other logistics.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other Firm personnel to support case matters and client needs.
• Communicate professionally with clients, witnesses, court personnel, vendors, and other legal professionals.
• Exercise sound judgment, including recognition of when additional information, guidance, or support is needed.
• Perform other duties and provide litigation support as assigned.

Qualifications

• Significant litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment; 7-10 years preferred.
• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Knowledge and practical skills necessary to support and manage a variety of litigation matters from inception through resolution, trial or beyond.
• Proficiency in state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate and manage deadlines while effectively balancing multiple matters and competing priorities.
• Experience providing in-person support for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, trials and hearings.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software products.
• Experience using legal technology and practice management systems, e-discovery platforms, and legal research tools. Experience with NetDocuments, LawToolBox, Relativity and Westlaw, or similar systems a plus.
• Strong skills in time management, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with other members of the legal team.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, resilience, professionalism, integrity, accountability, and commitment to high-quality work.

Compensation & Benefits

Fairfield and Woods, P.C. reasonably anticipates the starting hourly wage to be between $40.86 - $50.48. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
