InnoVision Marketing Group is looking for an experienced Senior Publicist who knows how to find the story, create the angle, make the pitch and earn meaningful media coverage for our clients.

This is not a position for someone who wants to simply manage PR from a distance. We are looking for a hands-on publicist who knows how to build relationships with journalists, producers, editors, influencers and other media professionals and understands what makes them pay attention.

As part of our Public Relations team, you will work across a diverse portfolio of brands and industries, developing PR strategies, identifying newsworthy opportunities, writing compelling pitches and press materials, coordinating media outreach and helping turn our clients’ stories into earned coverage.

• Develop and execute strategic public relations initiatives for multiple clients.
• Identify compelling, newsworthy angles within client businesses, industries and initiatives.
• Personally pitch journalists, editors, producers, bloggers, influencers and other media contacts.
• Build and maintain meaningful relationships with local, regional and national media.
• Write and edit press releases, media pitches, talking points, media alerts, briefing documents, bylined articles and other PR materials.
• Secure earned media coverage and proactively create opportunities rather than waiting for news to happen.
• Develop targeted media lists and continually expand relevant media relationships.
• Coordinate interviews, press conferences, media events, grand openings, announcements and other publicity opportunities.
• Prepare clients and executives for interviews and media appearances.
• Monitor news cycles, cultural conversations and industry trends to identify timely opportunities for clients.
• Manage multiple client initiatives, deadlines and deliverables simultaneously.
• Track earned-media activity and provide clear reporting on results.
• Collaborate with InnoVision’s Account Service, Creative, Social Media, Influencer, Digital, Media and Video teams to develop integrated opportunities.
• Mentor and help develop Publicists and Jr. Publicists while remaining actively involved in day-to-day PR execution.
• Support the Director of Public Relations in developing strategies and maintaining exceptional standards across the department.
  

• 5+ years of professional public relations experience , preferably within an advertising, marketing or PR agency.
• Demonstrated success securing meaningful earned-media coverage.
• Strong existing media relationships and the ability to develop new ones quickly.
• Experience personally pitching media, not simply managing agencies or directing others who do.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling abilities with strong command of AP Style.
• Strong understanding of what makes something genuinely newsworthy.
• Experience managing multiple clients, campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience working with consumer-facing brands and/or industries relevant to InnoVision’s client portfolio is highly preferred.
• Experience with media monitoring, media databases and PR platforms such as Muck Rack or similar tools.
• Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organization, follow-through and attention to detail.
• Confidence, curiosity, persistence and the ability to work with urgency.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related discipline preferred.
