Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nurse license required Certifications: BLS, MOAB preferred Must-Have: Traveler experience required Unit accepts first-time travelers Local candidates accepted Description: The role requires adherence to strict scheduling policies. RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be resolved onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. The schedule is for weekends, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The unit handles various mental health diagnoses in inpatient settings. Required skills include managing anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, and self-harming behaviors. Experience with medication administration, including antianxiety medications and antidepressants, is essential. Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques are vital. Staffing ratios are targeted at 1 nurse to 7 patients. There may be a requirement to float to other units as needed. Experience with EPIC charting system is required. Travelers will undergo a comprehensive orientation program before starting. The team is supported by various interdisciplinary professionals, including therapists and psych techs. Patient monitoring utilizes advanced technology for safety and effectiveness. The environment focuses on rigorous patient monitoring and managing complex behavioral challenges. Ongoing education and skills enhancement are part of the role. A commitment to patient care and safety is essential in this role.
