Hi-Hope Service Center Direct Support ProfessionalHi-Hope Service Center is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Day Services Program. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities in both community-based and facility settings. You'll help individuals achieve greater independence, provide personal care assistance, and encourage meaningful participation in daily activities.What You'll DoSupervise and support individuals based on their Individual Service Plans (ISP)Provide training and assistance with daily living skills: hygiene, grooming, meal prep, toileting, etc.Facilitate and participate in community outings and activitiesAssist with communication using tools and devices tailored to individual needsMonitor food intake and medication in line with medical directivesProvide safe transportation using company or personal vehiclesDocument activities, behaviors, and progress clearly and timelyMaintain a safe and clean environment, and report safety concernsRespond to emergency situations using appropriate protocolsRequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED required1–2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a day program or residential setting preferred or a caregiver role with vulnerable adultsMust be 21 years or olderCapable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbsReliable transportation and valid Georgia Driver's LicenseCPR/First Aid, De-escalation Techniques, and Vehicle Evacuation Training (within 90 days of hire)Negative drug and TB screeningsClear criminal background and acceptable motor vehicle recordMust successfully complete the Test of Functional Health Literacy in Adults (TOFHLA)Key CompetenciesRespectful, ethical, and professional behaviorFlexibility and adaptability in a changing environmentStrong communication and teamwork skillsSolid judgment and problem-solving abilityAttention to detail in documentation and reportingWork EnvironmentThis position involves working both indoors and outdoors, assisting with outings, personal care, and possibly transporting individuals in a van or car.
