Our products and services address these needs – from the pediatric to aging eye – in a patient's lifetime.Your unique talents will help patients on their journey to wellness.Purpose: As the Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing large equipment technology projects at Johnson & Johnson Vision. Your expertise and leadership will be essential in all stages of the project lifecycle, from planning and implementation to monitoring and completion. You will work closely with diverse teams to create innovative equipment automation solutions that will have a significant impact on eye health.You will:Manage Equipment Automation Capital Projects from Business Case Proposal and conception through closureManage project earned value and work completedEvaluate and negotiate contract terms with equipment suppliersPropose, assess, plan, implement, monitor, and close large equipment technology projects across Johnson & Johnson VisionPerform design tasks, including development of requirements, system specifications, qualifications protocol generation, protocol execution, technical instructions, training, and protocol/test execution reportsParticipate in the review, negotiation, and vigilance of support service contracts and vendor commitmentsGenerate and complete validation/qualification test plans to ensure sound performance of equipmentCollaborate with internal teams and assist in the technical development of peers and partnersTackle equipment application challenges and provide innovative solutionsTake an active role in the areas of equipment safety, OEE, equipment technical evolution, and equipment reliabilityLead equipment commissioning testing activities to ensure successful implementationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Industrial EngineeringMaster's degree preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience working in engineering rolesProficiency delivering automation solutions, with a minimum of 10 years of experienceExperience specifying, debugging, commissioning, and qualifying systems with advanced automation, with a minimum of 5 years of experienceExperience working in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or other regulated industries is preferredProficient in statistical analysis to ensure data-driven decision-makingDemonstrated ability to complete projects with minimal guidance and supervisionExperience working collaboratively in a team environmentExperience presenting business cases and project statusSome experience in machine learning is a plus, but not requiredOther:Willingness to travel up to 20% both domestically and internationallyJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
