Director of Catering Sales Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center | Montgomery, Alabama Take the lead in growing catering and event business at one of Alabama's premier convention hotels.

 

The Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center is a AAA Four Diamond property featuring nearly 300,000 square feet of event space , including a 70,000+ square-foot exhibit hall capable of hosting more than 7,500 guests. From major conventions and corporate meetings to galas, weddings, and social events, the property offers an exceptional platform for an accomplished catering sales professional to drive significant business and make an impact.

We are seeking a Director of Catering Sales to lead our property's catering sales efforts. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, this is a hands-on sales leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys developing business, building client relationships, coaching a team, and turning sales strategy into measurable results.

What You'll Do

• Lead the hotel's catering sales efforts and drive catering, event, and food & beverage revenue.
• Develop new business while growing relationships with existing clients and accounts.
• Lead, coach, and support the catering sales team with clear goals and accountability for results.
• Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing on forecasting, pace, pricing, need periods, and strategies to achieve revenue goals.
• Negotiate and close catering opportunities while maximizing revenue through pricing, space utilization, F&B minimums, and upselling.
• Collaborate with Event Management, Culinary, Banquets, Revenue Management, Sales, and Operations to ensure a seamless transition from sale through execution.

What We're Looking For

• Progressive full-service hotel catering sales experience with demonstrated success developing and closing business.
• A track record of achieving catering, event, or food & beverage revenue goals.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing sales professionals.
• Strong commercial instincts, including an understanding of forecasting, pace, pricing, contracts, and revenue optimization.
• Strong client relationship, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• An understanding of complex hotel events and the operational partnership required to execute them successfully.

Marriott experience, convention or resort hotel experience, and familiarity with Marriott sales and event systems are preferred.
