It is seeking candidates who are self-motivated, innovative, and committed to using financial tools to address climate change.Aligned is seeking an Accountant to support our financial operations and work closely with our Controller. In-person attendance at the NYC office Monday through Thursday is a requirement of the role. On Fridays, a remote work option is available. This position will be a critical part of Aligned's operations and will have the following duties and responsibilities:Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (creating invoices, journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with US GAAPMaintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses and other general ledger entriesRecord business credit card transactions while tracking approvalsPrepare bank reconciliations to ensure accurate account balances and resolve discrepanciesPrepare consolidated financial statementsAssist Controller with tax, audit, and other year-end preparations and reconciliationsProvide necessary supporting documentation and invoices to third-party stakeholders as requestedAnalyze and coordinate a variety of financial dataScan, organize, and maintain company documents in a systematic mannerAssist with 1099 preparationsPerform other accounting and bookkeeping tasks as requested by the ControllerQualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldAt least two years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practicesAdvanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred Qualification: Familiarity with private equity fundsApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
