As a Line Cook, you play a critical role in bringing the Populus culinary experience to life. Your attention to detail, commitment to quality, and passion for hospitality help ensure every guest enjoys food that is thoughtfully prepared, consistently executed, and reflective of our culinary vision.

In this role, you will:

• Prepare menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.
• Execute food orders with consistency, precision, and efficiency during service.
• Complete daily prep work to support forecasted business levels while minimizing waste and maximizing product utilization.
• Maintain organized, clean, and service-ready workstations throughout each shift.
• Properly label, rotate, store, and handle products in accordance with food safety and HACCP standards.
• Assist with banquet, brunch, buffet, special event, and restaurant service operations as needed.
• Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment while adhering to all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Communicate effectively with chefs, fellow cooks, stewards, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service execution.
• Support inventory management, product organization, and preparation planning.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture that values learning, teamwork, and accountability.

As a Line Cook, you contribute to our environmental commitments by:

• Practicing thoughtful preparation and portioning to minimize food waste.
• Following proper product rotation and storage procedures to maximize freshness and reduce spoilage.
• Supporting composting, recycling, and waste-diversion initiatives.
• Respecting responsibly sourced ingredients and maximizing their quality and utilization.
• Helping maintain an environmentally responsible kitchen while delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

• A passion for cooking, hospitality, and continuous learning.
• Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or upscale dining environment preferred.
• Strong knife skills and a solid understanding of culinary fundamentals.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food handling best practices.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Dependability, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules based on business needs.
