The Lending Authority Management team is responsible for the upskilling, testing, monitoring, and controls of underwriters throughout their credit approval lending authority lifespan. This leader will also partner with key stakeholders on strategic initiatives to increase lending authority thresholds established within Credit Policy.Key Responsibilities:Strategy & Transformation:Lead the design and execution of a new Lending Authority framework for business banking credit underwritersChampion Lending Authority transformation initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and process standardization across credit support functionsPartner with leaders and analytics partners throughout the organization to identify gaps in lending authority coverage based on product, region, seniority, and overall capacityEstablish and monitor ongoing Lending Authority control framework; ensuring employees are operating within the defined risk appetiteTeam Management:Directly manage a team of 3 to 5 Lending Authority Management professionalsClearly define role-based goals and team objectives, holding employees accountable for their overall performanceAct as a mentor, providing clear feedback and guidance to employeesAssist in the interviewing, hiring and training of new employeesBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceTypically 10 or more years of related experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceConsiderable knowledge of credit policies, credit analysis, procedures and philosophyStrong analytical skills in relation to evaluating asset utilization and goalsDemonstrated analytical and risk analysis skillsAdvanced knowledge of organization, business practices, business philosophy, and ethicsDemonstrated management and leadership skillsWell-developed customer service/relations skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to ourdisability accommodations for applicants.
