Job Summary Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care team in Pittston, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat common medical problems such as sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections, and other conditions. Perform routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services. Work autonomously with limited administrative burden and collaborate with physicians as required. Schedule and Call Monday–Friday 8:45am–8:15pm; Saturday & Sunday 7:45am–6:15pm. 14 rotating shifts per month. Work every other weekend; no overnight shifts or mandated additional shifts. Approximately six nights of call per year; no direct patient call for critical lab, CT, etc. Six observed holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day. Qualifications Advanced practitioner experience treating patients from age one and older. Minimum six months advanced practitioner experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care, or critical care. Master’s degree in Physician Assistant required; Nurse Practitioner must hold a master’s degree from an approved program or be eligible for national certification. Required Certifications & Licensure Physician Assistants: Completion of ARC‑PA (or predecessor) approved program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility, and Pennsylvania state licensure. Nurse Practitioners: Certificate of completion from an approved NP program or eligibility for national certification allowing practice in PA, and licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania. Basic Life Support certification. License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pennsylvania. Skills Care management knowledge. Clinical policies and standards. Health information documentation.
