Clinical Assistant Professor

Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor-Critical Care Specialist Applicants must hold a DVM or equivalent degree, be ACVECC or ECVECC board certified, or be eligible to take the certifying examination. The successful candidate will possess autonomy over the critical care service and will work in conjunction with the Emergency/Urgent Care/ICU Service that includes 6 faculty members and 24 service‑dedicated staff members, including at least 9 credentialed veterinary technicians, as well as small animal rotating interns. The intensive care unit occupies approximately 1,600 square feet and can accommodate 24 to 28 patients, with plans to expand to include a step‑down unit for less critical patients. Kansas State University is committed to establishing a robust critical care service equipped with state‑of‑the‑art equipment. Directed clinical service will include the delivery of critical care services to small animal patients in the Veterinary Health Center. Teaching responsibilities include instruction of veterinary students and interns in clinical rounds and didactic lectures. The institution seeks a candidate who has a passion for teaching, mentorship, and collaboration across departments and specialties. Minimum Qualifications Clinical Assistant Professor DVM (or equivalent) degree Qualified to provide quality clinical services and participate in the teaching programs of the department and college Clinical Associate Professor Demonstrate excellence in clinical service, patient care, and clinical instruction Degree requirement is necessary for accreditation and to ensure specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities attained through a formal educational program at this level Licensing, Registration, and Certification Requirements ACVECC or ECVECC board certified, or eligible to take the certifying examination.
