The Quality Tech's responsibilities can include measuring parts, first piece layouts, performing internal audits, calibrating and measuring test equipment, along with other various tasks as required. The Quality Technician must possess and consistently demonstrate excellent communication and record keeping skills, good attention to detail, and mathematical aptitude. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical.Read and interpret part drawings and technical specificationsDevelop and improve inspection, work and setup instructionsPerform testing and inspections using measuring and test equipment to include, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gages, gage blocks/pins and specialty gaging for stamped and fabricated parts.Maintain documentation and organization throughout the filing systemCompliance through internal audits including, but not limited to, the manufacturing floor, internal company work and inspection instructionsThrough continuous improvement processes, assist with statistical studies, gage R&R's, efficiency, product quality and implementation of improvements.Dimensional Layout ReportsInterpret and compare quality standards to customer requirementsAssistance with answering questions for customers and provide PPAP supportPerform calibrations and maintain the calibration database for all employee, company and customer owned gagingControl and maintain disposition and documentation of non-conforming productUse good judgment and decision making on quality related issuesClearly and concise communication with audit findingsOpen communication with personalExcellent time management skills while handling multiple tasksMaintain a high degree of integrityPerform other duties as needed or assignedUnderstand and follow employee handbook guidelinesComply with and Enforce Safety Practices and use of PPEEnsure adherence to legal and company policies and proceduresProvides Quality service by enforcing quality standardsTechnical aptitude for learning to inspect parts using 3D scanner with a full understanding of GD&TDesire for additional education and trainingExperience writing work instructionsHigh school diploma or GED requiredTwo years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience desired.Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
