Government Information Specialist (Senior Analyst)

The role involves a variety of responsibilities related to privacy and disclosure policies within the Agency. Duties The duties include: Implementing legislative/executive directives relative to Agency privacy and disclosure policies/processes. Managing SSA's disclosure regulations, including drafting revisions and amendments to the regulations, coordinating component clearances, and responding to comments from the public as necessary. Providing expert advice and recommendations to Agency staff/leadership on privacy and disclosure issues and their integration into Agency business processes. Directing the monitoring of major SSA initiatives, such as Disability Service Improvement and the Agency's Internet site, for any privacy, information access, or disclosure policy implications that may require the development of new policy or documents to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Planning, conducting, and overseeing a broad range of analyses of highly complex privacy and disclosure policy issues having Agency-wide impact. Representing and speaking for the Division Director and Head when working as part of a committee or workgroup. Designing and implementing special studies and projects relative to significant disclosure issues. Coordinating and providing consultative and advisory services to officials from other SSA components, other government agencies, and representatives of public and private organizations. Evaluating the effect of/advising on technological advances and their impact on privacy policy. Developing ways to assure the public can confidently deal with the Agency in electronic applications.
