Make an impact in the lives of students as a per diem paraprofessional substitute in a supportive educational environment near Norwich, CT for the 2026/2027 school year. This role focuses on delivering essential 1:1 support, with a strong preference for those who have experience working with students who have profound or severe disabilities. Desired Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support capacity within schools
• Demonstrated ability to provide individualized, compassionate care
• Candidates with a background supporting students with profound or severe disabilities are strongly preferred
• Adaptability and flexibility to adjust according to student/classroom needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in challenging situations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct 1:1 support to students, assisting with classroom activities and lessons
• Help manage behavior, support communication, and foster independence
• Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of students
• Assist with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
