About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Engineer in technology as part of the Wealth & Investment Management Technology team. This individual will lead architecture, engineering, and modernization efforts across the Account Opening & Maintenance (AOM) Portfolio. This role is responsible for driving technology strategy, architecture, and engineering execution for a portfolio of critical applications supporting client onboarding, account opening, account maintenance, KYC/CDD compliance, client servicing, workflow automation, and digital integration experiences. The Principal Engineer will provides strategic vision, technical direction, and architectural oversight for the Account Opening & Maintenance portfolio across Wealth and Investment Management. The individual will partner with business, product, and engineering leaders to modernize critical platforms through cloud-native architectures, API and event-driven solutions, AI/GenAI innovation, and automation. They will drive scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions that support onboarding, compliance, servicing, and advisor experiences while establishing engineering standards, best practices, and modernization roadmaps. Additionally, this role will mentor technical teams, lead complex integrations and production issue resolution, and champion engineering excellence through DevSecOps, CI/CD, and platform engineering practices.
