Description
- Conduct evaluations for a broad spectrum of patients from the pediatric to geriatric population using observational techniques and standardized assessments.
- Create individualized treatment strategies aimed at addressing each patient's unique short-term and long-term communication needs.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions that emphasize language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively alongside physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and families to design and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Empower patients and their families with educational resources to nurture progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in inpatient evaluations, contributing to seamless care and support throughout the therapy process.
- Ensure thorough documentation that meets organizational guidelines as well as state and federal regulations.
- Dedicate yourself to ongoing professional development and engage in peer collaboration to stay at the forefront of speech-language pathology.
Education
- Hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training must be achieved within 30 days of hire.
