Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour nights

Assignment Details:

• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Daily Census: 19
• Private Rooms: 18 + 1 Semi-private

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Experience with a patient ratio of 6
• Required Certifications: NIHSS, BLS
• Experience with charting system Epic required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills
• Competence in Med-Surg care including IV starts/maintenance, PICC/central line care, and blood product administration
• Wound care/Vac, ostomy, and feeding tube management skills
• Experience in pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure care
• Stroke/neurosurgery care experience

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical-surgical and telemetry needs.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes in status or emergencies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
• Administer medications and IV therapy as needed.
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities as required.
• Document all patient interactions and care provided in the electronic medical record.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 16 hours
• Weekend requirement: Half of scheduled shifts are on weekends
