Overview

The Developmental and Behavioral Health team at Children's Mercy helps children and teens with developmental, psychiatric, or psychological needs. We provide mental, emotional, and behavioral health services that lead to healthier children and stronger families.

What we do:

• Assess for ADHD, Anxiety and Depression, Autism, Eating Disorders, Learning problems other than dyslexia, Tourette Syndrome
• Psychological testing for concerns with Attention, Thinking, reasoning, and remembering, Emotions and behaviors, Social interactions
• Guidance for families with children who have developmental delays or disabilities
• Manage psychiatric medications for children with autism or developmental disabilities
• Therapy for children with chronic illnesses

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate plan of care for the patient and family that promotes optimal patient outcomes.
• Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
• Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand personal professional knowledge, enhance role performance, and improve nursing care quality.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree ADN Required.
• Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred for all nurses hired after September 1, 2013.
• One of the following required upon hire:
• Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas
• Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
• RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
• Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
• Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred Upon Hire

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children's Mercy locations and may not work from home.
