Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller will support our outsourced accounting clients and work closely with senior team members to help maintain accurate financial records, prepare reporting, and support day-to-day accounting functions. Responsibilities Track expenses, budgets, cash flow, receipts, and other accounting and administrative activity for assigned clients. Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analyses. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable. Maintain and review general ledger activity. Assist with budgets and cash flow projections, as needed. Support the monthly accounting close process. Prepare monthly reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting documentation. Prepare subcontractor 1099s and other IRS year-end reporting requirements. Assist in the preparation of audit packages and board reporting. Perform credit card management and reconciliations. Support and train junior staff members, as appropriate. Assist with special projects as requested. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting, Assistant Controller, or similar role. Nonprofit accounting experience is required. Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting software. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently. Self-motivated and willing to take initiative on projects.
