Make a meaningful impact during the 2026/2027 academic year as a full-time Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students in grades 5–8. This contract position offers the opportunity to foster academic and social growth for students with IEPs and 504 plans. Qualifications & Credentials:

• Active Rhode Island RIDE certification as a Special Education Teacher required
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field; master’s degree strongly preferred
• Minimum two years of relevant teaching experience (school-based special education experience highly valued)
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
• Must fulfill all state and school requirements for providing special education services

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and small-group support using rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
• Provide accommodations and instructional support both in classrooms and pull-out settings
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and plans
• Organize and participate in IEP meetings and progress reviews
• Collaborate and co-plan with general education teachers and staff
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Maintain regular communication with families, building strong relationships
• Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally
• Uphold effective classroom management practices
• Participate actively in professional development, workshops, and community events
