Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1.5 years of experience and an IN or compact RN license. Requirements Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date Minimum 1.5 years of PCU experience required Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Cerner charting experience preferred Community hospital experience preferred Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management Experience with insulin protocols and IV insulin drip titration Two supervisor references required RN's nursing school must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation Responsibilities PCU unit within a short-term acute care hospital Night shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30 8-week assignment length Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals, including potential Med Surg assignments with up to 6 patients Cerner EMR used for charting Provide direct patient care within a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown setting Manage patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal conditions Scrub color requirement: black pants with red top Must work 2 of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval Local candidates (IN residents) are not accepted for this position Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility before reaching their one-year mark: 3 months for out-of-state residents and 6 months for in-state residents Free parking available on-site Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-737435 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
