SRE - Site Reliability Engineer - Mid-Level (3-5 Years)

Job Opportunity

You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure, security, currency, and enhancements to Client’s Client Solutions Reporting Technology development teams while practicing Site Reliability Engineering principles. Qualified platform engineers will have a background in building and adopting new technology and platforms while maintaining existing technologies and platforms. They will work closely with team members, leads, and developers to deliver on all facets of infrastructure life cycle in an agile manner.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage provisioning and deployment of all installed systems and infrastructure; prepare and execute scripts for all software and application deployments and configurations of Linux/Windows environments through best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more
• Maintain currency, security, and infrastructure/application upgrades across multiple applications and environments
• Work closely with the team and Product Owner/ScrumMaster, to build and constantly drive excellence in our solutions (via Jira Sprint/Kanban board)
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, security, and system management tools
• Automate away inefficiencies and improve the quality and reliability of software and applications
• Administer configuration of all software services into various environments
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase platform build and system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

Required Qualifications

• Experienced Splunk professional with subject matter expertise in logging, monitoring and Event Management and SPL experience.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent (more than 5 years) work experience.
• Proven working experience in platform build and application deployments in UNIX /Linux and Network based environments. (Mainframe experience a plus)
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory configuration and policies
• Cloud provisioning and support experience (preferably in PCF, GCP and AWS) a plus
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
• Basic knowledge/experience with automated deployment and provisioning tools (SALT, Ansible, Kubernetes)
• Basic knowledge/experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, Chef)
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, Load Balancing, Firewall, DNS, etc.)
• Agile experience (scrum team) in working with Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels. Ability to create simple procedural documents.
• Good team player, self-starter, goal oriented, open minded, flexible and customer focused.

Additional Job Details

This position is a contract-to-hire position. Location preference is Denver and Phoenix. Contractors in these locations will go on-site 3-4 times a year and work remote the rest. 100% remote candidates will be reviewed but candidates local will take priority. Candidates who are legally authorized to work in the US for the duration of employment will be accepted for this role.
