Texas Health Physicians Group is pleased to announce two full-time openings for a Cardiothoracic Surgical Physician Assistant. One opportunity in Dallas and the second in Fort Worth. Here is your chance to work with highly skilled and trained physicians who use state-of-the-art technology and innovative procedures for patients who are diagnosed with a disease of the chest, heart, lungs, esophagus or the major blood vessels and veins of the body.

Position details:

• Full time, 40 hours per week
• Surgical assist in cardiovascular and thoracic cases
• Outpatient ambulatory visits & hospital rounding
• Assess new consults in the clinic and hospital admissions
• Assist with vein and radial harvesting; CABG and valve surgery

Requirements needed to apply:

• Active Texas license
• Physician Assistant board certification and experience
• Master's degree in physician assistant studies from an approved PA program
• Surgical experience plus 12 years hospital & ambulatory experience preferred
• Additionally, experience with robotic surgery a plus

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's degree physician assistant required
• Experience: 1 year as a physician assistant preferred
• Licenses and certifications: PA - physician assistant must maintain board certification as required for licensure
• Skills: active listening and learning, critical thinking, reading comprehension, effective communication, time management, judgment and decision making
• Supervision: individual contributor
• ADA requirements: working indoors 67% or more, mechanical hazards 133%, electrical hazards 133%, OSHA tasks involving exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues
• Physical demands: light work
