Registered Nurse Rural ICU / Med Surg

Immediate need for a talented Registered Nurse Rural ICU / Med Surg (Adult, Peds, Step Down). This is a 13 weeks contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Portales, NM (Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: Weekly Gross Pay: $2,312.16 (subject to completion of scheduled hours)

Shift: Nights 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM 6:00 AM)

Expected Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy
• Revise standard of care as indicated by patient's response to treatment
• Formulate teaching plan based on identified learning needs; evaluate effectiveness
• Assess and reassess pain management techniques; educate patient and family
• Communicate appropriately to Nurse Manager, co-workers, and physicians
• Consult other departments for interdisciplinary approach to patient needs
• Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs
• Interact professionally with patient/family; involve them in plan of care
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies
• Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
• Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary within licensure

Key Requirements and Technology Experience

• Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience in ICU, Med Surg, or Step Down
• Experience with adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient populations required
• Current New Mexico RN license required (must be currently active)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA preferred)
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Holiday coverage required
• Locals are accepted no radius restriction
