HR Benefits Coordinator

Location: Charlotte, NC

Pay: Up to $38/hour, based on experience and education

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week | 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Are you an organized HR professional who enjoys keeping employee records accurate, coordinating important documentation, and helping HR teams stay on top of deadlines? We’re seeking an HR Benefits Coordinator to support a busy HR department with employee leave coordination, benefits-related administration, and confidential recordkeeping.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in HR, benefits, payroll, or administrative support who wants to grow their skills in leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers’ compensation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking and coordinating employee leave cases, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and other leave programs.
• Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, tracking spreadsheets, and electronic files.
• Monitor leave deadlines, return-to-work dates, outstanding paperwork, and required follow-ups.
• Communicate with employees regarding missing documentation and routine administrative requirements.
• Coordinate with third-party leave administrators and internal HR staff.
• Enter and update information in HR systems, review records for accuracy, and assist with reporting.
• Support workers’ compensation tracking, ADA accommodation meeting coordination, and related documentation.
• Handle sensitive employee and medical information with the highest level of confidentiality.
• Escalate questions regarding leave eligibility, approvals, and policy interpretation to the appropriate HR team member.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in Human Resources, benefits administration, payroll, or leave administration.
• Familiarity with FMLA, ADA accommodations, or workers’ compensation.
• Workday experience, especially with benefits or employee leave functions, is highly preferred.
• Experience with HR tracking spreadsheets, reporting, and employee records.
• Familiarity with Kronos, SharePoint, or third-party leave administrators is a plus.

SharePoint and leave administration process training will be provided. Candidates with strong administrative skills and transferable experience are encouraged to apply!
