Project Manager – Nashville, TN

An established and highly respected general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing Nashville team. With more than 50 years of construction excellence, this organization has played a significant role in shaping the Nashville skyline and delivering some of the region's most recognizable commercial, hospitality, infrastructure, justice, government, and mixed-use projects. This position is ideal for a Project Manager with strong ground-up construction experience who enjoys leading complex projects from preconstruction through closeout. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, client communication, procurement, safety, quality control, and overall project financial performance.

A major focus for this role will be supporting large-scale ground-up construction projects, including upcoming justice and detention-related work in the Middle Tennessee market. The company is nationally recognized for its extensive corrections and justice portfolio, having completed more than 100 facilities across the Southeast, including courthouses, sheriff headquarters, detention facilities, judicial centers, and jail expansions. An upcoming jail project will provide a unique opportunity for a Project Manager interested in highly technical, complex public-sector construction.

Responsibilities

Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
Manage subcontractor procurement and performance
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and field leadership
Monitor project financials, forecasting, and cost controls
Drive project safety and quality initiatives
Manage contract administration, change orders, and project documentation
Mentor Project Engineers and support field operations teams
Ensure successful project delivery while maintaining strong client relationships

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
5+ years of experience managing commercial, institutional, industrial, government, or public-sector construction projects
Ground-up construction experience required
Experience managing projects exceeding $20M preferred
Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration
Ability to lead project teams and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
Experience with justice, government, healthcare, hospitality, higher education, or large commercial projects is highly desirable
