NOW RECRUITING – SITE SAFETY & HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO)

Location: Rapid City / Black Hills Region, South Dakota

Project: Federal Construction Project

Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week

Anticipated Duration: Through July 2028

Safety Solutions LLC is seeking qualified candidates for a long-term Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) staffing opportunity supporting an active federal construction project in western South Dakota.

Position Responsibilities:

\n
• Provide daily onsite construction safety oversight.
\n
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, applicable EM 385-1-1 requirements, and federal project safety standards.
\n
• Implement and maintain Accident Prevention Plans (APPs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety procedures.
\n
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and coordinate corrective actions.
\n
• Oversee subcontractor safety compliance and high-risk construction activities.
\n
• Work directly with project management and field personnel to maintain a safe working environment.
\n

Required Qualifications:

\n
• Documented experience as an SSHO or construction safety professional on federal or comparable construction projects.
\n
• Ability to meet applicable USACE SSHO qualification requirements.
\n
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training.
\n
• Current First Aid/CPR certification.
\n
• Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, APPs, AHAs, and construction safety regulations.
\n
• Strong communication, documentation, and field leadership skills.
\n
