Insurance Defense Paralegal

Job Description Job Description One of Johnson County's top Insurance Defense law firms is looking to add an experienced Litigation Paralegal to give support to several attorneys. Prior experience in Civil Litigation is required. Responsibilities will include: * Handle insurance defense matters with minimal supervision * Order and obtain records via subpoena (DWQ) and FOIA requests * Review and analyze medical records, including preparation of medical chronologies and paid vs. incurred charts * Draft pleadings, including answers and motions * E-file with state and federal courts * Interview clients, drivers, and witnesses * Communicate effectively with courts and opposing counsel * Schedule depositions, mediations, and hearings Requirements: * Minimum of 3 years of legal experience. * Litigation experience is a must. Insurance Defense experience preferred. * Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Word, Outlook, and CaseNet. * Outstanding communication - written and verbal - including excellent spelling and grammar.
