Paralegal/Legal Assistant (Litigation and Real Estate Transactions)
Prairie Village, KS | Full-Time (In-Office) A well-respected boutique law firm in Prairie Village is looking to add a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to their team. You'll support a collaborative group of attorneys handling a mix of litigation and transactional real estate matters. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and likes being a key part of a high-functioning team. We're looking for someone who is known for their reliability, discretion, and proactive approach-someone who takes pride in staying organized, anticipating attorney needs, and helping the team deliver efficient, high-quality legal services. This is an in-office role with a firm that values work/life balance, responsiveness, and a positive, team-oriented culture. What you'll be doing You'll support attorneys across a mix of litigation and real estate matters, including:- Keeping files organized and up to date (both digital and physical)
- Managing deadlines, calendaring, and court filings (KS & MO)
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents
- Supporting discovery, trial prep, and general case flow
- Assisting with real estate contracts and closings
- Tracking time and supporting billing
- Law firm experience (litigation experience is preferred)
- Familiarity with Kansas and Missouri court rules and e-filing
- Experience managing deadlines and multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience with billing/timekeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Experience with Clio (Grow/Manage) is a plus
- Real estate experience is helpful, but not required
- Is known for being reliable-people trust you to get things done
- Takes pride in being organized and detail-oriented
- Is naturally proactive-you think ahead and anticipate needs
- Handles sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Enjoys being part of a collaborative, team-first environment
- Likes staying busy and engaged across multiple matters
- Wants to keep learning and getting better
- Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (in-office)
- $23-$30+ per hour, depending on experience
