You have worked end-to-end on the ML model lifecycle, from early data discovery and analysis to deploying and maintaining models in production. You believe that the best data science work accelerates learning, improves decision making, and ultimately drives measurable impact for customers and the business.Justworks is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our ML group within the Data & Analytics team. You'll primarily partner with Product and Engineering to identify and frame domain-specific use-cases as data science problems, prototype and evaluate the appropriate technical solutions, and work with our Machine Learning Engineers to deploy them into production and maintain them. Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work OnLead end-to-end machine learning and data science projects:Partner with product and engineering leaders to identify and scope new data science use-cases within their domains such as Risk & Insurance and PaymentsUtilize SQL to query both structured and unstructured datasets relevant to the problemsPrototype, evaluate, and deploy technical solutions including classical ML, statistical techniques, algorithms, deep learning, and LLMsDevelop and apply AI-assisted approaches to analysis, model exploration, and deployment to multiply your impact and expand the reach of data science across the organizationHelp implement and curate strategic assets for the team such as data assets, generalized code and tooling, and reusable frameworksSupport technical and code reviews on the teamBuild model monitors and systematic methods of obtaining consumer feedback from models post-deploymentCollaborate with our MLE team to inform the model deployment infrastructure and MLOps tooling roadmapPerform other related responsibilities as needed based on department and/or organizational needs.How You Will Do Your WorkIn the Data Scientist role, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately result in our success as an organization. Simplicity - Be like Einstein: “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.”Qualifications7+ years of experience as a data scientist or machine learning practitioner, with a track record of driving business impact through statistical analysis, machine learning, and productionizing modelsStrong expertise in predictive modeling, numerical algorithms, and statistical methodsStrong communication and data storytelling skills — you can translate complex findings into clear narratives that influence strategy and decisionsStrong business acumen and the ability to connect analysis to product strategy, roadmap tradeoffs, and business outcomesFluent in SQLProficient in Python for both model research and development, as well as writing production grade code for deploymentFamiliarity with a cloud-based data stack (e.g. Snowflake, dbt)Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a track record of applying them to accelerate analysis, improve rigor, or expand the reach of data science workPrior experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS company is preferredThe base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $166,000-$214,000 per year.#LI-DG2 #LI-HybridActual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.
