Butcher / Meat Cutter

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Butcher to join our team for early morning shifts starting at 5:00 AM. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, trimming, and packaging various cuts of meat according to exact company and customer specifications. We are a  trusted provider of high-quality meats based in Hicksville, NY. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, precision, and delivering exceptional product standards to our commercial and local customers.

salary: $20 - $25 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 5 AM - 4 PM
education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, bone, and grind beef, pork, poultry, and other meats according to daily order sheets.

• Ensure proper portion control, yield management, and minimal waste.

• Maintain high standards of food safety, proper sanitation, and personal hygiene in a refrigerated work environment.

• Operate commercial equipment safely, including meat saws, grinders, slicers, and knives.

• Clean, sanitize, and inspect cutting tools, equipment, and work areas throughout and at the end of each shift.

• Previous professional experience as a butcher, meat cutter, or prep cook required.

• knowledge of meat cuts, knife skills, and commercial butchery equipment.

• Ability to start reliably at 5:00 AM and work until daily orders and cleanup are complete.

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads (up to 50+ lbs) in a cold room environment.
