CAM Programmer for AI Training [Remote]

Develop advanced CNC toolpaths and create clear instructional CAM materials for a customer project, using Autodesk Fusion 360 to program 3, 4, and 5-axis machining. Your CAM expertise will be used to produce high-quality, real-world data and guidance that help train next-generation AI systems. No prior AI experience is required, your domain knowledge is the focus.

micro1 is an AI data lab that transforms subject matter expertise into training data, evaluations, and feedback for frontier AI models. The organization engages vetted experts across domains to create high-quality instructional content and CAM outputs that improve AI reasoning and performance.

• Develop precision CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
• Program complex milling and turning geometries for metals and plastics, optimizing for material, tolerance, and machine capabilities.
• Simulate and verify toolpaths to detect and resolve collisions, gouging, and inefficient cycle times.
• Configure, tune, and document post-processors for various CNC machines, for example Haas and Makera.
• Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and strategy documentation for downstream manufacturing professionals.
• Author clear instructional content, walkthroughs, or written guidance on CAM programming techniques and best practices.
• Incorporate feedback from first-part results and inspection reports to iterate and refine CAM outputs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Fusion 360 CAM.

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on CAM programming experience, with demonstrated Fusion 360 proficiency.
• Portfolio or sample work showing multi-axis programming and toolpath strategy.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and design for manufacturability principles.
• Experience configuring post-processors.
• Experience programming for advanced CNC environments and working with materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience creating or delivering CAM training content, such as courses, tutorials, mentoring, or online instructional materials.
• Ability to document and explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
