Nursing Professional

Duties

Provide comprehensive professional nursing care for patients in an Outpatient Ambulatory Procedures Unit (APU) setting.

Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Independently initiates and carries out a variety of age-specific nursing assessments in preparation for surgery.

Assist with management of clinical settings involving moderate sedation or anesthetic agents.

Communicate and consult with physicians and other healthcare personnel, make changes in the plan for nursing care, and resolve conflicts that arise.

Educate patients and significant others regarding surgical procedures and routines expected during the perioperative period.
